Markus has been a researcher with the HILDA Survey at the Melbourne Institute for many years. There, he was involved in academic research, survey methodology, and the HILDA Statistical Report. He recently completed his Ph.D in Economics, which examined earnings and income inequality in Australia and Germany, using data derived from the combination of tax records and household survey data. His interests include economic inequality, survey methodology, linkage of administrative and survey data, and labour economics more broadly.
